On animation export, you can check transparency, but the result is a black background even with sky and ground unchecked in styles. Is this a bug? I want to pull small animated 3D videos into Flash, but I need

transparency so I can put them on top of other objects. OS X 10.5.6, SU 7

Hi,

Check out if this answer helps (note that I'm not on the mac so I can't check if it works):

Check out the Green Screen links on the Sage GreensScreen - I did it

The best solution I found was to change the background to green in styles, and export the animation.

Then in After Effects open the animation file and change the green area to transparent with a plug-in under Effect, keying, keylight.

With the screen colour eyedropper tool, select the green area in the animation.

Export from After Effects to and .flv file under window render Queue, or more simply under File, export .flv, and under video use On2 VP6 and choose Encode alpha channel.

Now when you import into Flash, the background will be transparent.

Great news. I'm going to add a link to your method to the FAQ page. There are not very many people posting about this.

I agree...this is definitely news I can use. I'm going to try a few tests and find out which "green" works best and will post my results.
