i use windows Vista. when i finished the sketch up(tried both of them, normal one and the pro) installation, there is a window poped up when i opened it, it says " WARNING: your OpenGL Properties settings have been reset to their defaults, This may have been caused by resetting your windows display properties or by tampering with the Sketchup registry" and i dont really sure how to solve the problem. BTW, when i close the program and re-open it second time, and i counldnt even normally use it( the program turned in white background when i maximize the window).

thank u very much

jason,

It appears that your graphics card is not a 3D graphics card (or it is not a "quality" 3D card, or it's driver is deficient.) To support

SketchUp, a quality 3D graphics card (and driver) is required. Graphics card support for OpenGL functions must be 100%. See references:

If you're sure you have a quality 3D graphics card that fully supports OpenGL, then you may need to update the driver file. You can download an updated driver from the graphics card manufacturer, or from the computer manufacturer, if it's a laptop.

For any additional help, more details about your graphics hardware/driver would be required.

Hi jason,

It sounds like you have two issues going on, the first is that you didn't run SketchUp as administrator the first time you used it and then that your system doesn't support OpenGL as we need it. You can resolve this by uninstalling SketchUp, rebooting your system, and then reinstalling. Please be sure you right click the SketchUp installer and choose "Run as Administrator" during the install, and then once its installed you'll need to "Run as Administrator" again the first time. This will make sure that you're able to record all of the system settings on first run. Once you're in SketchUp you'll need to disable Hardware Acceleration so that you don't end up with the white screen issue you're seeing. To turn the Hardware Acceleration option off:

1. Open the "Window" menu.

2. Click "Preferences".

3. In the left pane, click "OpenGL".

4. In the right pane, clear the "Use Hardware Acceleration" check box.

If you need to download Google SketchUp Pro 7 again then you can do so here:

Turning off "Use Hardware Acceleration" is not a permanent solution. On any larger models, SU will run very slowly. However, it will confirm that you have an OpenGL problem with your graphics card. I ran that way for a couple of months when I was first starting. I finally found a combination of settings for my card that allowed me to user HWA successfully and SU runs MUCH faster now.

I hope this helps,
