durzua,

Vista (and it's security) is sometimes a perplexing puzzle.

I searched for "Microsoft.VC80.ATL" and "0x800736B3," and found only a little bit of info. The "VC" refers to "Visual C" which is a part of just about every Microsoft product nowadays. One of the primary components is the NET Framework. If you have any problems with the NET Framework, you're going to have trouble like this.

I couldn't find anything specific on the error number, but did find users that fixed comparable installation problems (not SketchUp, but Dreamweaver and Acrobat) by resetting the Windows "file system transaction log," using the file system utility, FSUTIL:

- open a "cmd" window as administrator,

- navigate to the windows home directory (for example C:\windows\system32)

- run the command FSUTIL RESOURCE SETAUTORESET TRUE C:\

- reboot

Worth a try? You might want to research FSUTIL a bit before trying it:
