Sketchup 7 constantly freezing for a few seconds

Hi,

I'm using a Macbook, 2Ghz, 2Gb of RAM, intel GMA 950 graphics, Leopard OS.

I just downloaded a Sketchup 7. Immediately after I started to use it, the program began to hang every few seconds for a few seconds. I get that rainbow wheely thing, normally right after I choose a new tool or try to perform some kind of operation with it. The program is unusable, half the time I am staring at the rainbow wheel waiting for it to respond. I tried restarting the computer and opening only Sketchup, but the problem persists.

Can anyone help me please?

Apple fixed some things in the Intel GMA950 that helped and hurt performance. The blank selection bug (draw a selection rectangle, and nothing would show up) bug was fixed. Please consider that this is the low of low end graphics cards. I have one of these in my household, and I thought, and it's slow.

If you look at http://developer.apple.com/graphicsimaging/opengl/capabilities/ that card is only capable of running OpenGL 1.2.
