You should have downloaded a .dmg file, which you double click on and it mounts. Then if you click on the mpkg, it launches installer. If that doesn't work, how do you install any software on this machine? What version of Mac OS X?

For others (sys admins) you can always install mpkg's from ssh as well. On your own machine, open Terminal, mount the dmg, and type

sudo installer -pkg "Google SketchUp Pro 7 Installer.mpkg" -target /

for a command line install.

Hi watchings,

Barry might have gone the more technical route on this one, it sounds like for some reason you don't have an application associated with the MPKG file type. Please confirm if you downloaded the SketchUp installer from on of our servers (dl.google.com) and that it was a DMG file you downloaded. It should be associated with "Installer" which isn't a located in the typical Applications or Utilties folders. Generally losing this file association means that its an incomplete or corrupt file or there is a larger issue on your Mac. In this case I'd follow Barry's advice and run the file in Terminal after confirming that the file isn't corrupt. You might just want to delete the file

and download it again from:

Let us know how it goes.
