Broadband Speed Tests

As part of the villages campaign to getting high speed broadband, you will need to check your current broadband speeds.

How?

  • You can do this by using http://speedtester.bt.com and follow the online instructions.

  • Please save or print a copy of your results and send them to Alan, and he will email them all to Alun Cairns who is helping to campaign for high speed broadband for Sigingstone and the surrounding area.

  2. Address:

  3. Phone:

  4. Broadband provider:

  5. Upload speed:

  6. Download speed:

  7. Any knowledge of speed from adjacent properties:

  • When using the speed tester you will need to know your phone number or service code for your line.

  • It will ask you what diagnostics you want to perform.

  • Click the button that looks like this :

ADSL & Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) Diagnostics
  • Then enter your broadband line number (if you have 1 line to your home then it will be your home phone number, otherwise it will be the phone number that your broadband is connected to) or service ID

  • Please note that you will need to have Java installed on your computer to visit the BT Speedtester website. You can download it from http://www.java.com/en/.

  • If you can't install Java then alternatively you can use http://speedtest.net/
