Housing and Support for Homeless Individuals in Merced County

Our Mission Statement

The mission of Sierra Saving Grace Homeless Project (SSGHP) is to provide an inter-faith and community-based safety net for homeless individuals and families who are either underserved or not served by existing programs and services. Sierra Saving Grace promotes a housing first approach to solving homelessness, through the provision of intensive case management, advocacy, and services in recognition of the inherent worth and dignity of all persons.

"Never Worry about numbers. Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you." ~ Mother Theresa

How You Can Help!

To continue our mission, we ask for your assistance because we cannot act alone. Please keep us in your prayers, and help in any way you are able. We gladly accept furniture and household goods, volunteerism, and monetary donations. Thank you for your continued support!

Our program participants enter their new homes with few possessions. Providing basic necessities and furnishings to each participant is one of our greatest challenges, but you can help. Any of the following are greatly appreciated:

  • Toiletries and paper products
  • Furniture
  • Cookware
  • Cleaning Supplies

Monetary donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 1301, Merced, CA. 95341

Our Programs:

Permanent Supportive Housing

Sierra Saving Grace Homeless Project is the only local non-profit organization offering permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless medically needy in our community. We adopt a housing first approach to end homelessness in Merced County. This means we first place individuals in a home, then work together to address and manage any chronic conditions. Through case management and financial assistance, we help our participants reach their personal and wellness goals.

Rapid Re-housing

SSGHP's rapid re-housing program aims to end homelessness in Merced County through street outreach, housing navigation, and case management. The program provides rental deposit assistance and/or short term rental assistance to participants while helping them achieve individual personal and wellness goals through case management to gain independence and self-sufficiency.

Our Participants:

Each program participant is unique and we work tirelessly to address their individual needs. Our Case Managers/Housing Navigators provide guidance and support, and connect each participant to services to help each person attain health, well-being, and independence. The success we achieve, large and small prove all the hard work is worthwhile.

Our Team:

Our growing team of volunteers, interns, case managers, and working Board of Directors bring dedication, talent, and experience to SSGHP. Through outreach, permanent supportive housing, and rapid re-housing, SSGHP is committed to helping end homelessness in our community. Please contact us to join our organization and be part of the solution.
