Physical versus Chemical Changes
With this unit we will:
- I can identify the five states of matter and recognize that matter is made of particles in constant motion.
- I can diagram the arrangement of particles for solids, describe the types of solids, and determine solids have mass and volume.
- I can diagram the arrangement of particles for liquids, describe the property of liquids, and determine liquids have mass and volume.
- I can diagram the arrangement of particle for gas and describe the properties of gas.
- I can determine how many drops of water can fit on a penny. I can explain what happens to the drops and why it happens.
- I can compare and contrast thermal energy and temperature and describe how heat will transfer.
- I can determine the difference between physical and chemical changes. I can list examples of physical and chemical changes.
- I can describe the relationship to changes in thermal energy to change of state.
