R&D of Pipilika

We are going to introduce first ever Web Search Engine - “Pipilika” in Bangladesh for both Bengali and English language in 2013. This free web service provides search results on nationwide news and business information to the people. Pipilika is able to supply up-to-date news, articles, reviews etc. of different news portals. Pipilika has couple of user friendly features which made it different than the renowned Search Engines like Google or Bing for Bengali language. So, we tried to give more emphasize on Bengali news analysis and searching.

The purpose of such a Search Engine is to increase the accessibility of Bengali websites through more user friendly searching capability. The everyday news are scattered everywhere.  And it is not accessible by the general users. Also it takes a lot of time for the general users to find their required information accessing the Bengali sites. Even searching in Google or Bing using Bengali keywords is not user friendly like searching using English keywords. Moreover, general users did not get any service for searching location based news anywhere before. Also there is no online business directory in Bangladesh and yellow pages are not worth enough for information searching. Hence Bengali search engine is one of the primary needs for IT industry of our country where Pipilika can play a great role.

Pipilika provides a pretty simple way for information searching. Its categorized search gives a complete news status of any location and also any types of incident. It has a unique business directory with 60,000 company profile information collected by crawling websites.

This automated system is updating itself by crawling and indexing news from the daily newspapers. The whole data is now searchable in a fingertip. There is several search options for the users to retrieve their information in categorized way. So Pipilika has the capability to change the total scenario in the field of information retrieval.
