Septic Assistant requires a CAD engine to operate, either AutoCAD or BricsCAD are acceptable, BricsCAD is preferred due to its menu structure (no ribbon menu). However should you prefer AutoCAD it must be the full version. (AutoCAD-LT will not work, as LISP file routines are not supported).
The cost of BricsCAD is a fraction of the cost of a full version seat of AutoCAD reducing the cost of start-up including the necessary hardware to less then the cost of an AutoCAD License alone.
Should you purchase BricsCAD, the required Version is "CLASSIC", it will perform all functions built into Septic Assistant.
"PDFsam Basic" a PDF manipulation utility that allows you to add, split, rotate and merge existing PDF files, very useful for creating single documents from multiple PDF documents. This is an open source (free) utility that does not display annoying ads during use.
Septic Assistant now has a QR Code Generator function, to take advantage of this ability a QR Code reader needs to be available on your Device. Once the Designer places a plan in a cloud based storage service (ie; Dropbox or Google Drive) then generates the QR Code within Septic Assistant and places the QR Code on the plan, anyone will be able to read the code and download the plan to their Device.
DROPBOX, while not required to be installed on any device to download from, it does need to be installed to store files in. The installer can download plans in the field without installing Dropbox on their device.
Open Office, no ads or trials this COMPLETELY FREE office alternative can even create FILLABLE & SAVEABLE Pdf files. Great alternative for Microsoft office with even more builtin features, all created documents are fully compatible with the equivalent Microsoft Office product. You will need JAVA installed to run this program, which you most likely already have anyway. (I created the Designer Info Form using this program)
