Text or give us the link so we can access your computer to assist with the install or give you a program demonstration.
Or if Septic Assistant is already installed there is a small EXE file in the support folder "SplashtopSOS", run that file and you will get the 9 digit access code.
Added a Ground Water Mounding analysis utility to the program;
The mounding analysis utilizes the Hantush (1967) formula for infiltration ponds, most data is supplied by the program based on actual system configuration and test-pit data.
This analysis utilizes an Excel spreadsheet developed by the USGS and is now included in any program downloads, along with supporting documentation. (you will need Excel installed to run analysis)
Rhode Island sizing has been completely rewritten to account for the rule changes that took affect last year;
Sizing is based on soil Catagory as well as wastewater strength as the rules allow.
Added the use of Geo-Mat systems by Geomatrix.
Fuji pre-treatment systems are included, a Norweco option will be available by the end of April.
Butterfly systems now available for Chamber and Enviro-Septic Systems;
There are two possible locations for butterfly d-box, center of bed or at edge of system @ 1st row.
This allows for sloped butterfly systems for Chamber Trenches or Enviro-Septic systems.
Automated several functions that where not quite there previously;
Bed selection for Bed-Bottom calculator and Finish Contours is now from drop-down list if more than one is present.
Enabled USER select-able D-Box location on all system types (with the exception of serial distribution).
Overall there is less repetitive USER input required to complete septic system designs.
Added a lot more error alert notifications to give the USER more direction on what may have been done incorrectly.
We will be at the GSOWA (fka GSDIA) conference Postponed due to Corona Virus, booth # 19, stop by and see us. We will be demonstrating the program so you can see how it all works. Conference is at the Double-tree by Hilton Manchester Downtown in Manchester, NH.
Just added Butterfly* Plastic Chamber Trench option;
This will allow trench configurations up to 300' long, for jurisdictions where long narrow fields are required.
Plastic Chamber Trench configurations are now available to meet states like Ohio and other requirements.
Added "Twist View-Port" utility, to alter paper-space view without effecting model-space view. (4-mouse clicks)
Working on Enviro-Septic Butterfly option next to be able to create long narrow systems.
(*- Butterfly configuration is when D-Box is in center of Bed, not end fed.)
Just added a slope analyzer utility;
It's now possible to color code different natural ground slopes, with each slope on it's own unique layer.
Incorporated the slope analyzer into bed creation functions to ensure adequate field data was collected.
The area to be analyzed can be user selected by; surrounding line (lot lines), Window or all 3D-Faces (entire TIN).
Upon the completion of each slope analyzed, the area of that slope is displayed on the command line.
All manufacturers data is now stored on the CLOUD, giving us the ability to have many manufacturers available, no longer restricted to a single file for all product data. (example every Septic Tank manufacturer can now have their own data file, so all of their products can be listed. The users will no longer have the option of adding data, but we intend to have all data listed of participating manufacturers.
Just added a new function to locate and download LAS files using only the site address. The animated GIF to the right is in real time, it demonstrates;
Opening a NEW dwg in Septic Assistant.
Retrieving the coordinates of the site based on address only.
Opening "The National Map" site, at the site location, there is no hunting trying to locate any site in the US.
Verifying the existence of LIDAR data for the site, and downloading the file to the users downloads folder.
As you can see there is no specialized computer skills or knowledge required, Septic Assistant guides you through the entire process. In fact the user doesn't need to do much at all other than know the address of the site they are working on.
Added the ability to create a single contour line at a user determined elevation or by selecting a location for it on the plan. This is useful for at least three purposes;
Creating the NH-DES "50% Rule" contour under the leach field, elevation is pre-determined no user input required.
Creating a reference line along shore fronts, user simply enters water surface elevation of water body.
Creating a path line for laying out trench type leachfields, ensuring trench follows contours as closely as possible.
Complete redesign of "Title Block" function, users can now customize their title blocks by entering the data in a CSV file that can be edited with EXCEL or any CSV editor. Allows for the creation of very custom title blocks without fear of the layout being lost on future program updates.
A Test-Pit Logging application is now available to try out on the DOWNLOADS page. This can be run directly from this site, or on your Mobile Device (visit the DOWNLOADS page for instructions). The data entered can be imported into Septic Assistant for use in designing the systems and completing the Test-Pit Logging. The data is available for use immediately after submitting the data with the app. There are no files to transfer or manually download, all this is completed automatically.
All submitted data is stored in a Cloud based file that is exportable in CSV format. Users have full access to their data only. The data is imported and saved through the Septic Assistant Program, all users however will be emailed DOC & PDF files once the data is submitted (within minutes) without having to use Septic Assistant.
Example of usage;
Open the app and log test-pit(s) on site. (Don't worry you can go back and add Perc-Test data anytime)
Initialize Septic Assistant on your computer, select the "USE TEST-PIT LOGGER DATA" button where the data is required.
Select from the "Drop-Down" list that automatically appears, select the Test-Pit you wish to use.
Check the TOGGLE box to save the data to your local drive.
I have learned that a large University is working on an Application to read soil colors with a Mobile device, more on this as I get more information. (they are in final approval stages)
Just added the ability to work with classified LAS(z) LIDAR files, taking full advantage of point classifications. User simply downloads a classified LAS file(s) from any source, (ie; "coast.noaa.gov/dataviewer" or "lidar.unh.edu") Septic Assistant then utilizes a LASTools utility internally to reduce and translate file(s). Data points are then imported into Septic Assistant (utilizing the same method used to import field data that was user collected) for TIN and Contour generation. (scaled and translated points are automatically placed over a scaled and translated GOOGLE IMAGE) No need to learn any other programs or software, GIS software can be quite daunting, time consuming and expansive. Typical vertical precision utilizing LIDAR files is 15cm. (6 inches or better) with the ability to segregate ground elevation points from tree canopy and other obstructions. LAS files are automatically thinned per users requirements, merged and reduced in size to match the GOOGLE IMAGE, reducing LAS files from will over 6million data points to a few thousand.
By using available LIDAR data, many other uses of Septic Assistant become evident, for example preparation of site plans & wetlands permitting to name a couple. (program does not replace precise wetland mapping)
Added GeoMatrix Geo-Mat systems, all three sizes in lay-down or standup configurations.
Refined several functions to acquire ground elevation data directly from the TIN wherever the mouse is located, no need to select any drawing objects.
Refined Tank Buoyancy Calculator to take into account tank bottom elevation, original grade and ESHWT elevations at the tank location, there is no need to manually enter any data except depth of cover over the tank (including the use of an extended base, aka anti-flotation tanks).
Currently updating program so it is suitable for all states, individual state data is USER editable either directly via a CSV file, or through interface within Septic Assistant. (Will be available mid-January 2019)
Added ability to configure Septic Assistant for multiple USERS and jurisdiction requirements. All easily edited or added directly from within Septic Assistant.
Integrated FijuClean per-treatment systems into Septic Assistant, can be used with any system type. There are now 2 pre-treatment options in Septic Assistant. (Clean Solutions and FujiClean)
Added rectangular Dry-wells, as a supported system type, the user can enter any rectangular shape and invert elevation they require. This information is entered into the appropriate CSV file so it is available in the system.
Reworked the "Create Home or Addition and Septic Tank" functions to enable the user to select any true color or wipe-out for the home or addition background.
Added the ability for the program to retain the sites latitude and longitude within the plan itself for use in the 5 applications that require lat-long input.
Added a quick link to the FEMA flood maps, at the latitude and longitude held within the plan.
In the past two years, over 200 designs utilizing Septic Assistant have been submitted for review and approval to local jurisdictions and the state of NH-DES, not one has been returned for errors due to the program or its use by the various users.
To give some idea as to the flexibility of Septic Assistant, recently a fairly complex design in NH consisting of 5-homes utilizing a single bed with pre-treatment was completed and approved for construction. Each shore front home utilizing its own tank & lift station then sharing the pre-treatment facility and bed. The entire design from field data entry to all lift station calculations, system & component sizing and layout was performed utilizing Septic Assistant, not one error due to mis-calculations etc. on the part of the program was flagged by the approving authorities
Just added a slope analyzer utility;
