What is Septic Assistant ?

• A user friendly program, designed for the new CAD user with little to no CAD experience as well as the seasoned CAD veteran looking for an affordable and comprehensive CAD solution.

• A 3rd party (not a stand alone program) Design Assistance Utility, specifically geared towards the Creation of Site & Septic System Plans.

• For Residential & Commercial Systems, GPD charts are built-in for all commercial uses. (Residential uses are based on # of bedrooms)

• Septic Assistant requires the presence of BricsCAD on the users computer to utilize as the CAD Engine.

• System sizing is based on user input of the Soil Percolation rate and/or Soil Class, depending on State requirements.

• The user then selects the type System to generate and the program walks the user through the system configuration / generation process.

• All drafting functions can be completed by Septic Assistant with minimal user input, no prior CAD experience necessary.

• This system can produce completed design site plans from Field note data entry (Manually or Automatic File input) to creating final PDF or Plot..

• All design specific data is stored within the plan file, to enable future edits without having to re-enter any data.

• All survey functions required to produce a Septic Site Plan are included in the program, eliminating the need to purchase additional software.

• While specific State requirements are used as a guide, in most cases they can be over-ridden by the user to suit site specific requirements.

• Septic Assistant can be utilized for New Construction as well as Replacement Systems.

• Applying what if scenarios can now be done in a matter of a few minutes (trying different system configurations or types).

• Fully customizable final plan layout. Below is a generic plan layout, this format is fully customizable allowing the designer to maintain their current format. Some knowledge of CAD is required to achieve the customized plan, or we can assist you in creating one.

• The use of LIDAR data is a key component to producing very accurate plans for various uses. (some field work is still required to tie in benchmarks and on-site details that may be required for the plan being developed)

How Can I try Septic Assistant ?

• The program can be down-loaded from this site on the Downloads page.

• When trying BricsCad on the 30-day trial period, you can also try Septic Assistant for the same trial period. (temp. license is required from us)

• Once Down-Loaded it is a simple process to install Septic Assistant, just Double-Click the install ICON.

• Once installed simply click on the "SA SETUP" ICON on the Desk-Top and you are ready to go.

• To function properly, once down-loaded you will need an additional customized file, just fill out the Designer Info Form from the Down-Load page email to us and I will create and return this file.

• You will need BricsCAD v-16.0 Classic & Up installed on your computer.

• There is a link to BricsCAD on the LINKS page, BricsCAD is available for a 30-day FREE trial period.

• BricsCAD is the preferred Cad engine, it cost a fraction of what AutoCAD cost and runs virtually identical. Neither BricsCAD or Septic Assistant require an annual SUBSCRIPTION as AutoCAD does, the fee for the software is a one time fee for the Version purchased. (User can edit & save ACAD drawings in BricsCAD, and then re-open in ACAD, no importing or exporting)

Why Choose Septic Assistant ?

• To complete Septic Designs there is no other option currently available. (excluding Maine).

• Current survey options ie; Carlson have no provisions for septic system design assistance (and have a steep learning curve).

• When Septic Assistant is combined with BricsCAD, the cost of getting into the Digital Design Age is far less then any other options available, and they can both be run on Desktop/Laptop computers or both as 2-installations of each is allowed.

• Septic Assistant along with BricsCAD can easily be run on a Laptop computer, making it very portable. (using a data-collector you can generate contours in the field in less than 10 minutes)

• With Septic Assistant you have the ability to import field data from a Data Collector/Total Station, or enter Stadia, Laser & Tape or Total Station field notes manually. You can also utilize the MapSmart by LaserTech app on your android device and import the CSV file created by the app.

• Lot lines can be Created & Labeled VIA the Deed Description process, Bearings & Distances with Curve Length & Radius options.

• Can you calculate the TDH (Total Direct Head) of a pumped system including pressure losses due to friction & fittings without referencing any other materials?

• Why have the Septic Designers in your office use a Civil Autocad seat that cost close to $3,000/year, when you can outfit the same Designer with an entire system including perpetual licenses for the same cost (if you prefer annual subscription option the annual cost is nearly $2,000 less per seat/year). And the system can be used for detailing/editing work on a DWG file created in Civil Autocad. If your existing DWG file contains a TIN or point data then the same data can be used in Septic Assistant. Septic Assistant uses TIN's (3D-Faces) for all calculations, including bed bottom elevations and slope analysis.

• Now that E-Filing is up and running, submitting applications has never been easier or less time consuming. Turn around time for approvals is being measured in hours not days. The municipalities are still trying to figure out just how to handle applications, but they are coming around.

• With Septic Assistants ability to export to PDF file types directly there is no need for any additional software to create the DES required PDF file type. In most cases the Designer never has to produce large format prints at all.
