At a press conference held at Siridon Arms Headquarters on Qo'Nos, Siridon Arms CEO, D'Vek Kartz, announced today that he was deploying a carrier type vessel in the Delta Quadrant. The stated purpose for this action was to provide a mobile base for a corporately controlled security force. This force, according to Kartz, would include fighter craft (to be used for shipment security) and a limited contingent of ground operations personnel. He had this to say:

"Siridon Arms Incorporated is committed to the protection of its arms shipments. No longer can we stand by while pirates hijack weapons that will ultimately affect countless colonies in the Delta Quadrant."

He went on to say that ground troops would be used primarily in a recovery capacity and/ or to offer assistance in instances where the company's weapons have fallen into the wrong hands.

Many rival corporations have already spoken out against this policy. How the Federation, Romulan Star Empire, and Delta Freedom Alliance will respond to this action is yet to be determined. In answer to questions along these lines, Kartz offered only these comments:

"Our corporation respects the sovereignty of all governments within the Delta Quadrant, however, we cannot expect them to spread themselves thin in order to provide aid for vessels operating on behalf of Siridon Arms. I will be contacting these governments to outline the conditions under which the S.A.S. Deliverance will operate, and to seek a possible location for its maintenance needs."

The use of military vessels by Siridon Arms has been long anticipated by many, as it was preceded last year by a similar announcement of intent.
