REFOCUS

At Briggsdale School, we use a school wide behavior plan that is called Time to Teach. This is an evidence based classroom management model which uses practical and proven strategies. The ideal of this is to turn a disruptive moment into a learning moment. The essence of this plan is for the students to understand what they need to be doing in the classroom as well as outside the classroom so that everyone is able to learn and the teacher can teach effectively. The students will first get a warning. After the warning if the behavior has continued they will be given a REFOCUS form and sent to another classroom to fill this out. After time, this should eliminate the number of times the classroom is interrupted with disruptive behavior.
