Upcoming change to Form Publisher: Introducing our paid plan

Post date: Sep 04, 2015 7:32:1 AM

Update : Since October 2018, our Individual Premium plan increased to $50 / year

A year ago, we started offering paid plans for Yet Another Mail Merge, our first add-on for Google Sheets. It was an experiment, to see if creating add-ons could be a viable business. And it has been a success! Thanks to all our paying customers, we were able to spend more time on the add-on, correctly handling support, bringing new features and fixing bugs (yesterday I released the 354th version of the add-on!). Yet Another Mail Merge is now counting 250K installations, 50K monthly active users and the numbers are growing every month.

Last October, Google launched add-ons for Google Forms, and as part of this launch, we released Form Publisher, an add-on to generate files upon a form submission - useful to create invoices for example. Since the first release, we have improved the UI, added many features and fixed oh so many bugs (mostly due to unreliable things on Google side...). During the past few months, we've seen our efforts rewarded with better ratings and more installations from the Chrome Web Store. We want to continue the adventure and make Form Publisher a great add-on everybody will want to use but the experience has shown that good add-ons take time to build and support. That's why starting next Monday, we will enforce new quota and propose a paid plan for Form Publisher.

What does it mean?

If you aren't a heavy user, you will be able to continue using Form Publisher for free, all current features included, with a maximum of 100 files created per month. If you need to create more files, we offer one simple plan for $24 / year, to remove this limitation.

We have started communicating to users who are already over this limit and will do our best to avoid any frustration. If at any time Form Publisher is disabled on your account because you missed our alerts about this change, you will be able to manually generate files for any previous form submission, through the add-on menu.

In the menu, you will also find the "Form Publisher status", from which you can check your remaining quota, purchase the paying plan and do other things like disable the add-on or reset settings for the current form.

We hope this change will let us support Form Publisher in the long term and let us invest in it as much as we did for Yet Another Mail Merge!
