Scotia United Methodist Church Men’s Club

The Men’s Club of the Scotia United Methodist Church is open to all men of the church.

About twenty (20) men participate, at varying times, in the activities of the Men’s Club.

Monthly breakfasts are held at 8 a.m. on the last Saturday of each month at the Glenville Queen. Holidays may cause us to schedule a breakfast on other than the last Saturday of the month.

Guest speakers are invited to speak to us upon occasion and we have been blessed by several very interesting speakers who spoke on such diverse subjects as hunting dogs, nurses’ role in the health care system and motorcycle racing.

Various “Work Parties” are held to clean up, paint and generally “spruce up” the church and parsonage. Breakfasts are held twice a year at the church, in the spring and the fall, as Fund Raising events. Pancakes (plain, with fruit and with chocolate chips), scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, juice and coffee, tea or milk are served at these breakfasts for $8 for adults, $4 for children from 5 to 13 years of age. Children under 5 are free. And, we intend to put on a “Community-Wide” breakfast in the fall of this year.

Most of the proceeds from our fund raising events are donated back to the church either as a direct cash gift or in the form of a gift to the church. For instance, the Men’s Club donated the beautiful 8 foot “Flame and Cross” and plaque which hang in the Loomis Room. And, we plan on buying “kitchen ware” (pots, pans, skillets and kitchen utensils) for the large kitchen off the Community Room.

The Men’s Club is a friendly, active, and vibrant part of the Scotia United Methodist Church and all men are invited to join.
