'Physics' is often called 'the fundamental science', as it accurately explains all natural phenomena that we have observed up until now. It is the study of nature, ie. the universe and everything within it. Physics relies on a set of given fundamental principles, fundamental particles and fundamental forces. This explains all interactions of matter and energy, particles and waves, in space and time, whether at the quantum level or sizes ‘beyond’ the universe, at any given speed. Physics is applied mathematics (the language of science), and explains everything in chemistry and biology. Knowledge in physics is essential to understand any other scientific discipline.
