The competitive success of the Science Olympiad program rests on the shoulders of motivated students and industrious volunteer sponsors.
Middle schools in Science Olympiad (Division B) is comprised of students in Gr. 6, 7, 8, 9. A team is allowed 15 students competes in 23 events in a single tournament. Each student competes in 1 to 4 events; there are 2-3 students on each event, working as partners.
Costs
As we are restarting this year our costs during our start up year will be little high, in past years most of the cost were covered by many families.
The annual cost per child of running the club, still with 100% volunteer time and free facilities, is $275. Family donations are crucial, as are business donations and fundraisers. Our club treasurers (Arrwin and Chloe) will reach out to you about donation information when the new Science Olympiad season starts.
Transportation
We are not funded for a bus. Students will travel with their parents. If your child needs to ride with a carpool, you may volunteer to organize a carpool.
Materials
The school does not pay for materials. All materials are coming out of volunteer donations from parents.
We look forward to another year of exploring, learning, and competing!
