We are making great progress on many fronts in the build up to completing the purchase of the village shop. The pledged funds are in all bar a few, which are on their way. We have
made contact with the key suppliers and are completing the process of registering the new business name and preparing for the transfer.
submitted our business plan to the post office and hope to hear shortly.
begun setting up the company bank account using hopefully the Alliance and Leicester as it offers the level of governance and control we need as a community interest company as well as being available via the post office counter.
registered the company domain name so we can use it for email and websites
The shareholders meeting has been delayed until November due to half term commitments and holiday plans. I will be sending out a new proposed date shortly. We intend to hold it in the Village Hall. The shareholders agreement is nearly completed and we will be in a position to issue share certificates ahead of the purchase being completed.
Volunteers needed
Our main focus now is building the operational plan including the rota of volunteers to assist in the running of the shop and the business. Kate Soothill has kindly volunteered to coordinate and liaise with all volunteers. We have all sorts of roles we are looking for people to perform ranging from Stacking shelves, serving customers in the shop, Reviewing and ordering stock, Working behind post office counter, book keeping using accounting software, Marketing, Website management, Helping with stock deliveries, Administration, Staff rota, general repairs, gardening and on and on it goes....
To make this as easy as possible please would you be so kind as to register your interest in volunteering on-line. We have set up a form to do this which can be found via link on our campaign website www.sarrattvillage.org or directly by clicking here.
If you register on-line it will save time later in building the rota. Please feel free to contact Kate directly as well via email of phone. Kate's email address is as follows.
Kate can be reached by telephone as well on 01923 267854
The more people we get registered the more flexible we can be as a community. Training will be provided for each role
