Information on Disbandment and Opportunity for Input
The San Diego High School PTSA has long been a vibrant, inclusive community of parents, students, staff, and supporters dedicated to strengthening the SDHS experience. After thoughtful discussion at recent General Association meetings, the PTSA will hold a vote on May 22 to determine whether the organization will formally disband.
Status of Current PTSA Events: All regularly scheduled PTSA supported events will take place as normal for the 2025/2026 school year including Grad Night, Senior Activities and Teacher Appreciation Breakfast.
Plans for 2026/2027: The Annual Parking Lot Fundraiser has been adopted by the SDHS ASB and the Grad Night Committee has been adopted by the San Diego Foundation.
Disbandment Committee: As part of this transition, we are putting together a Disbandment Committee that will prepare recommendations and outline the required procedural steps. If you are interested in participating, please email sandiegohs.ptsa@gmail.com.
Your Input: All SDHS stakeholders are invited to express concerns, ask questions, request a special meeting and share their ideas on how remaining PTSA funds can best support our school. A short input form will be available soon (link and QR will be added down below).
All submissions will be reviewed and considered by the Disbandment Committee. A special meeting to vote on the disbursement of funds will be scheduled the week of May 11. Updates will be shared on this site as details are finalized.
We’re deeply grateful for everyone who contributed their time and heart to this organization. This site will remain available during the transition to provide updates and resources.
