Empty Homes Officers offer advice and support for owners who want to do something with their empty property: providing information about the range of options available to help owners select the solution that is right for them. We also look at what can be done about problematic properties, and those where the owner has no intention of returning a property to use.
The Empty Homes Officers work with owners and with other services in the Council, to find the best ways to bring empty properties back into use.
Interest free loan to rent
We have a limited number of interest free loans available to owners of homes that have been vacant for more than 6 months. The loan is for carrying out predominantly internal renovations and can range from £5,000 up to £15,000.
