Feel invited to join us for Zen practice at the temple during this holiday season.


Please note the temple will be closed between December 18th and January 4th.


Weekly offerings:

All programs are offered free of charge, donations and monthly pledges are dearly appreciated. 


Tuesday Evening Programs:

5:30-6:30 p.m. Silent Meditation (in person only)

7:00-8:45 p.m. Evening Program (meditation & silent tea)

A short 30 minute beginner’s lecture is offered each Tuesday during our 7:00-8:45 p.m. in-person meditation. Please arrive by 6:45 p.m.

Dokusan (opportunity to visit the teacher) occurs on December 3rd, & 10th

Thursday Programs:

10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Thursday Sangha Samu Day.

This is our weekly time to take care of Miao Chung temple together.

Saturday (online only)

Note: The Saturday Online Zoom group will meet every Saturday in December except for 12/7 which is during the December Rōhatsu kosesshin.

7:30 to 8:00 a.m. 

Each Saturday a Zen student coordinates our brief meditation and offers a concluding poem.

Sunday morning Programs (in person only): 

Beginner’s lecture is offered each Sunday please arrive by 10:15 a.m.

10:15 a.m. 12:00 noon (seated and walking meditation & Dharma talk)

12:00-1:00 p.m. optional lunch and social time with Sangha

Rakusu Sewing and Book Club will resume in January

Dokusan (opportunity to visit the teacher) occurs on December 8th.

Please limit parking on 15th Street to help our neighbors. Mill Street is available on both sides of the street.
