Opportunities

We are looking for interested and capable undergraduate and graduate students [B.E./B.Tech (Final yr) or M.E/M.Tech(final yr)] of ECE/EE/CS specialization, with good foundation in digital signal processing and implementation programming.

Currently, we have an ongoing research project on the topic of Audio Analytic. The goal in this task is to realize a web-search engine like tool for a large repository of audio signals. The audio repository is dynamically scaled up, over time, in contents and complexity of audio signals. The repository is composed of audio signals from speech recorded in different environments (natural and man-made channels), non-speech sounds (such as the plethora of sounds that we hear in different environments, when no-body is speaking), and their simultaneous and non-simultaneous mixtures.

The goal is an ideal test bed for designing signal representations, fast signal processing algorithms, and dynamic data learning approaches.

We, at SAG (speech and audio group), focus on devising new methods of processing speech and audio signals, using signal processing/pattern recognition techniques and stochastic models. The group thrives in the amazing oxygen rich campus of IISc, and is composed of masters and doctoral research scholars lead by Prof. T.V Sreenivas. The above research project requires, in addition to our pursued direction, efficient implementation as well. We will be happy to hear about your inclination to join us and contribute to our effort. We expect serious involvement and commitment for a period >=6 months.

If you are interested, and feel your capabilities can make a difference, please contact us with profile (cv/resume) specific to the above requirements.

The selected candidates can expect project-staff remuneration, according to IISc norms.
