Membership

How do you become a member?

• Do three camps with us, with your own equipment and comply with the camper’s code. After the three camps you can decide if you fit in with the club. The committee reserves the right to approve all membership.

Membership fee is per year and is payable after your third camp on a pro rata basis. There are two types of membership, the hardened camper who does more than 4 camps a year or a “postal membership” for those who have a busy schedule with children, school activities or have to work regularly on a Saturday and can only make up to 3 camps a year.

The current annual subscription is R350 per family per year and for this you get the following:

- The ability to vote at the AGM (or any special general meetings as and when they take place)

- A voice through the standing committee as a member of the club to make suggestions on how the club is being operated or where the camps are being held.

- A monthly newsletter with a report on the previous camp and information on upcoming camps and activities

- A really cool party at the end of year Christmas function

- SMS / WhatsApp reminders when bookings open.

- A commemorative camp disk.

- Wood supplied for a cosy campfire during winter camps.

- Communal braais and other activities or entertainment coupled with great company.

Camp fees are according to the camp site rules i.e., if the campsite fee is R500 per night, then that is what you will be charged. Note an admin fee of R50 per camp will be added for wood and other camp requirements. Payments and bookings will be done in accordance with the camp site. Booking information will be in the monthly newsletter and WhatsApp notification for final bookings will be sent.

DISCOUNTED NIGHTS FOR FULLY PAID UP MEMBERS (SACC-GP ONLY.)

• To qualify, member must have camped with the club for a minimum of 6 camps.

• SACC-GP member gets 1 discounted night for every 6 nights camped.

• The Value of a discounted night = R500 maximum.

• A SACC-GP member can take 1 night at a time.

VIDEOGRAPHY & PHOTOGRAPHY DISCLAIMER

Videography & photography will be conducted at SACC-GP co-ordinated camps for the use of SACC social media pages and post event articles.

By being a member or a guest of the SACC-GP, all camp participants, agree to be named on social media and to participate in any and all advertising, promotion and/or other commercial activities relating to SACC-GP, hereby consent and agree that their photograph, image, likeness and/or voice may be used by SACC-GP in all related promotional activity without any rights of prior approval or inspection of the camp participants, camp co-ordinators of the SACC-GP.
