Dr. Sierra Howry
Advisor: Since Spring of 2015
Department: Agricultural Economics
Favorite Part of being Advisor: I love the enthusiasm of all the ladies in Sigma Alpha. Their love, excitement and passion of this great organization makes being an adviser easy. The ladies have welcomed me with open arms. They seek out my advice, but what they may not know is how much they have taught me. These young women make going to meetings enjoyable because they all work together to meet a common goal. They are so focused on making each event successful, that they already have everything planned out. I love each of them and I look forward to being their adviser for many more years.

President: Rose Gillis
My name is Rose Gillis, and I am so excited to serve as the 2024 Beta Zeta Chapter President! I joined Sigma Alpha in the Spring of 2022 thanks to one very pushy RA. I have served in multiple leadership roles during my time in Sigma Alpha including secretary and philanthropy chair. I love getting my hands dirty during a good service project and dressing for success for professional development. I absolutely love my sisters in agriculture!
Outside of Sigma Alpha, I enjoy curling up with a good book or playing with my dogs back home. I grew up on my family’s beef farm and have shown beef steers all throughout my life, so my agricultural roots run deep. I am an Agricultural Education major. I am involved in Agricultural Education Society and Alpha Tau Alpha. After college, I plan to become an agricultural education teacher and FFA advisor, where I will push students out of their comfort zones every day and share my passion for agriculture with them!

Secretary: Katie Zimmer
My name is Katie Zimmer, and I am honored to serve as the 2024 Beta Zeta Chapter Secretary. I joined Sigma Alpha in the Fall of 2020 during the thick of COVID-19. Despite being online I grew a love for the organization and have experienced events in many different formats. I have served in a variety of leadership roles including Vice President, Philanthropy Chair, Chaplain, and Scholarship Chair. I enjoy helping our sisters find their passions and their place as professional women in agriculture.
At UW-River Falls I am currently studying Agricultural Education and Agricultural Business. Growing up on my family’s dairy farm which transitioned into a beef, swine, and chicken hobby farm gave me a diverse background in agriculture that I want to continue to stay involved in. Other organizations I am involved in on campus include Ag Ed Society, Alpha Tau Alpha, Collegiate Farm Bureau, NAMA, and Student Government Association. I am also currently serving on the Agriculture Future of America Student Advisory Team. After college, I am excited to share my love for agriculture as an agricultural educator, helping to develop the next generation of leaders in the agricultural industry.

Recruitment Director:
Sam Stephens
My name is Sam Stephens, and I am thrilled to serve as the 2024 Beta Zeta Chapter Recruitment Director. I joined Sigma Alpha in the Fall of 2023, which was my sophomore year of college. I haven't been in the sorority very long but with the time I have been in it, I have been able to meet a bunch of new people and learn more about the agriculture industry that I am so passionate about. I am passionate about the special relationships that I am making and being able to have fun while gaining professionalism.
Outside of Sigma Alpha, I am studying Agricultural Marketing Communication with an Agricultural Business minor. I gained my love for agriculture through FFA in high school and surrounding myself with people of similar interest. On campus I am heavily involved in the Student Support Services TRIO program, which helps me share my other passion of advocating for first generation and low income college students. After college I am not completely sure what I want to do but I think it will definitely involve either teaching the younger generation about agriculture or helping bring awareness online.
