Bigger Wheels

The resident ground hog filed a complaint about the grass being cut too low by the mower. The motor was adjusted as high as it could go, so the next step was to make some bigger wheels.

I tried to print some adapters to connect to some commercial mower wheels but it was not a great solution. The wheel size was a bit too large for my printer so I had to print in pieces. I left out the outer walls of the model so that there would be more surface area for the fiber-reinforced epoxy to bit into.

First wheel was a mess.. Second wheel, was still a mess but slightly better. 

After adding large wheels, the bumper needed to be a bit larger and further away from wheels to give time for the robot to "sense" collision before the wheels run something over. (like the resident groundhog that started this whole chain of projects)
