May 15, 2011: Ok We just finished our Exam #2. We have a few things left to finish for the year. #1 and Most Important you Must do your experiments, collect some data, and then do some kind of statistical analysis on it. You will need to write a final report and create either a Poster Board or PPT presentation( all due by June 1st. Before the year is over, I want you to work on the Guns Germs and Steel Blog as well as the Blog about Dr. Bartlett and growth.
This week we are READING the chapter on Env. Economics Chapter 10, Professor Beal will be here to Lecture about it on Th and Friday. Quiz due Tuesday May 24th by 9:00pm.

March 22: Begin My continent project: Go to the Activities page, there you will find directions and the first part of a sample paper that you will be doing. Please make sure you are preparing for your first exam on Friday, it covers the first four chapters and any activities we have done.
March 21: Make-up Day, Please make a page on your website for your research project and give me a description of your project and start looking up scientific articles that are related to the topic. You need to find methods that you can use from those papers.
March 17th. Notes chapter 4 and work on Research Ideas, Intro to lab on Statistics.
March 16th worked on research topic and finished any old work. Reading chapter 5.
I have Posted the Unit 1 Exam Review Sheet under Exams and Reviews page be sure to get a head start on studying.

Wednesday March 9: We will do the Cow Farts activity in class using the excel-spreadsheet data form. Look at each of the three articles then use the spreadsheet to award points. See the lesson on Evaluating the internet for links and articles.
Tuesday March 8: Cow Farts Activity was a bust....I had to fix some things...made up any work.
Monday March 7: No School.....Puts a small wrinkle in our plans. Tuesday we will do lesson Day 6 and Wednesday Lesson day 7.....then we might end up skipping the reports about Fact or Fiction. I posted a rough sketch for the remaining of the semester, make sure you look at it in the syllabus section. I hope you all got the quizzes done. I posted grades for what I saw if there is an error please let me know.
Some of you still need to add a comments section on each of your pages so I can make comments on your work. Please have all updates to your portfolio done by Tuesday am so your grades are accurate!

The Technology Alliance of Central New York (TACNY) will host a presentation on meteorology as part of its Sweet Lecture Series. “The Arctic’s Warmth Becomes a Mid-Latitude Chill” is scheduled for March 8, 2011 at 6 p.m. Mr. David Eichorn of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) is the featured speaker. The event will be held in the auditorium of the Whitney Applied Technology Center at Onondaga Community College. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
