Please explore the information below to learn more about a few of our reoccurring social events. The Desert Doves are committed to fostering a sense of community here in Tucson. Our community events are open to all: community members, RPCVs, Coverdell Fellows, students, partners, friends, family, (anyone!). All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Desert Doves Events

GENERAL MEMBER MEETING

The next General Member Meeting is on Saturday, 9/19 at 5:30 PM at Susan Petrus's House (1616 East Calle Altivo, Tucson, AZ 85718). This will be a special welcome meeting, where we'll recognize and hear from the new Coverdell Fellow / RPCVs joining the University of Arizona and our community this fall. Syrian food will be provided by the Desert Doves at this meeting. Feel free to bring a beverage to share.

FIRST FRIDAYS HAPPY HOUR

1st Friday of every month at 6:00 PM. The next happy hour is at Zerai's on 10/2.

INTERNATIONAL MOVIE NIGHT

The next International Movie Night is TBA.

SERVICE PROJECTS

We are collaborating with Peace Corps Prep and UofA Coverdell students for service projects at the SoAZ Food Bank on Saturday, 10/3 and Cycolvia on Sunday, 10/25. Check out upcoming newsletter for sign-in sheets. Looking forward to seeing you there!

VOLLEYBALL MEET-UP

Join fellow RPCVs and friends on Saturday mornings for a weekly volleyball meetup at Anza Park. Start time varies with the weather. Call or text Chris (815-529-2780) to confirm before attending.

2027 CALENDAR FUNDRAISER

Preorder your 2027 ROCV calendars and get them in time for the holidays. Proceeds replenish our small project grant fund. Click here for the link to preorder.
