Please explore the information below to learn more about a few of our reoccurring social events. The Desert Doves are committed to fostering a sense of community here in Tucson. Our community events are open to all: community members, RPCVs, Coverdell Fellows, students, partners, friends, family, (anyone!). All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Desert Doves Events

GENERAL MEMBER MEETING

Saturday, July 11th from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM is the annual Desert Doves Pool Party at Susan and Tom's place (1616 East Calle Altivo, Tucson, AZ 85718). This event will also be potluck-style. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

DOVES DINE

The next Doves Dine is Saturday, June 20th at 6pm at Tacos Apson (3501 S 12th Ave). They have delicious tacos, gringas, carmaelas, tortas y mas.

FIRST FRIDAYS HAPPY HOUR

1st Friday of every month at 6:00 PM. The next happy hour is at Zerai's on 7/3.

INTERNATIONAL MOVIE NIGHT

International Movie Night is back! The next showing will be on Saturday, June 27th at 7pm at Brennen's (7612 E Lee St). We have some interesting films lined up this year and up next is the 2025 Documentary film Loot: A Story of Crime and Redemption out of Cambodia. The Desert Doves have a personal connection to this project as our own Lorel Donaghey is an Executive Producer!

VOLLEYBALL MEET-UP

Join fellow RPCVs and friends on Saturday mornings for a weekly volleyball meetup at Anza Park. Start time varies with the weather. Call or text Chris (815-529-2780) to confirm before attending.
