HELP WANTED:Would YOU like to serve Scripps College Alumnae as a Regional Associate?Regional Associates help sow the seeds of alumnae community as organizers of local alumnae groups, in locations throughout the US and around the world.A Scripps alumnae group can form anywhere an individual or a group of willing volunteers makes a commitment to organize activities and coordinate communication among a local/regional community of Scripps alumnae, with the support of the Scripps Office of Alumnae Relations. See current Regional Associates roster here. As of November 2012, several previously-organized sections seek Regional Associates: Bay Area, Hawaii, Tucson. In addition, volunteers might organize in Texas, Florida/Georgia, London/Europe, and/or other apparently under-served areas.

Generally speaking, Regional Associates operate without a detailed job description or guidelines, with coordination provided by the informal Regional Associates network and by Vice Presidents representing Regional Associates on the Scripps Alumnae Leadership Council, in addition to Alumnae Relations staff.

Some examples of successful regional programs:

* Celebration of alumnae achievements/honors, e.g. new book releases

* 5C or 7C events, coordinated with local alumnae of other Claremont colleges

* Vocational groups, e.g. "sisters in law"

Several regions use various online media, e.g. web sites and Facebook pages -- as you can review via links to the Regional Associates page.If interested in serving, please contact us with a note about your hopes and questions, and we'll help you get engaged and mobilized.
