Welcome to our Village Website!

News Flash 1/26/15

The Village Meeting scheduled for January is cancelled due to weather.  Next meeting March 30.  Agenda to include nominations for Burgess & Commissioners, proposed budget for 2015-16.

Hi Folks,

On behalf of the Burgess and Commissioners of the Village, I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

I would like to remind everyone to make sure that when you fill out your Maryland State income tax forms, you list Rosemont as your city of residence.  A portion of your tax money is returned to the Village.  This is a large part of our budget.  If you put Frederick County or Brunswick in that block then your money goes to them.  So please double check to make sure you list Rosemont in that block.

Also, if you see a street light out, please send me an email or give me a call.  We pay a flat rate for the lights and we would like to see them all working.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday,

"Tom"

Thomas Watson

  • Message from Delegate Schulz (10/13/14): Dear Neighbors,  I wanted to let you know that we have been continuing to work with First Energy regarding the power issues in Brunswick and Rosemont. Please see the information below as an update directly from their representative. I am happy to report that the major work is complete as of today!  This Friday, October 10 we completed our 12Kv realignment work and abandoned the section of line that was the source of numerous outages and the recent surges that caused problems for some residents of Rosemont and Brunswick. This was the last in a series of improvements we made to our system in order to address reliability and power quality issues in that area. Now, we certainly can’t ...

  • Message from the Burgess (8/15/14) Hi Folks.   I just got an update from Del. Kelly Schultz on the power line work.  The switch at the Brunswick Substation on the high voltage line has been installed and is operational.  This means that the high voltage line that is over our supply line is now not energized.  If a tree comes down on the line it will not cause a power surge.  The lower voltage line that is our power supply is scheduled to be removed from the stream valley and hooked to the Petersville substation.  This work should be completed by the end of October.  They should be starting on tree trimming in our area soon.  It looks like the power surge problem has been solved ...
