2010 4th of July Car Show

The Rollin’ Nostalgia Car Club held its 20th Annual Fourth of July Car Show during the holiday festivities at Lincoln Park in Pittsburg, Kansas. There were 103 cars, trucks and motorcycles registered, representing 16 car clubs from around the four-state area.  All registered participants received a personal photo plaque featuring a photo of their vehicle at the show.

Special trophies were awarded in eight categories.  Best Stock was awarded to Marvin Smith, Pittsburg, with his 1948 Ford Tudor.  Ralph Schindel, Lamar, won Best Custom for his 1949 Mercury.  Best “Rat” Rod was awarded to Richard Rawlings, Bronaugh, for his 1936 Ford 5-Window Coupe.  Best Motorcyle was awarded to Bob Torbett, Pittsburg, with his 2006 Harley ultra classic.  Best Hot Rod went to Tom Burns, Joplin, with a 1927 Studebaker Coupe.  Drew Rhodes, Pittsburg, won Best Truck, with his 1952 Chevrolet Pickup.  Best Muscle Car trophy was awarded to Douglas Strong, Frontenac, for his 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner.  Overall Best of Show was awarded to a 1956 Ford Thunderbird, owned by Andy Randell, Baxter Springs.

 

Cash prizes were awarded to clubs having the most vehicles registered.  1st place went to the Southwest Missouri Stang Gang from Joplin, Missouri.  The Rebels Car Club from Miami, Oklahoma, tied for 2nd place with the Route 66 Corvette Cruisers, from Joplin, Missouri.  Our Grand Prize, a set of four tires, compliments of Wiseman Discount Tires and Loughmiller Motors, was won by Darrick DeGrusen, Pittsburg.
