   The Rollin' Nostalgia Car Club of Pittsburg, Kansas consists of like-minded people from the surrounding area who share a common interest in creating classic car-related activities for the community.  Since 1991, we’ve hosted car shows in conjunction with local events, including the Pittsburg 4th of July Celebration in the Park, the Pittsburg Little Balkans Days and the Girard Homecoming Festival.  In addition, a Cruise-Night for local enthusiasts is held on the first Saturday of each month, April through October, including a “Super-Cruise” in June. These events provide entertainment for the general public and attract patrons to the local economy.

     Our member’s year-long planning translates into a “well-oiled machine” as we handle event-registration, parking, food and t-shirt sales, judging, door-prizes, awards and music, all while taking time to make participants and spectators feel welcome. 

    As a non-profit organization, we return event proceeds to the community.  Each year, donations are made directly to individuals and families dealing with cancer and other catastrophic illnesses as well as to victims of floods and tornados in recent years.  We contribute to the Joplin Ronald McDonald House, the Pittsburg Wesley House, the Pittsburg chapter of ANGELS Among Us, the SEK Humane Society and other organizations including the American Red Cross.  We also fund an annual scholarship to the Automotive Technology Department of Pittsburg State University.

    In May of 2012, the club hosted the first Miners Hall Museum monthly exhibit on Transportation in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institute’s “The Way We Worked” presentation that displayed through June of 2013.  Last year, we completed the club’s “Camaro Project”; restoring a classic 1968 Chevrolet Camaro for a local cancer patient who thought he would never have a chance to drive his dream car.

    It’s not all work, though.  Road-trips during the year allow us to spend quality time in our vintage and classic vehicles, cruising to other area car shows, cruise-nights, drive-in movies, etc.
