Colon Cancer Survivors

2019

Ms. Lilibeth Reyes was 49 years old when she was diagnosed to have sigmoid colon cancer.  I operated on her in Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center in July 2006.  Histopath showed adenocarcinoma with negative nodes.  Postoperatively, she did not receive any additional treatment for her cancer, just check-up.

She was lost to follow-up until today, June 20, 2019 when she accompanied her sister who has a breast concern to see me.  I examined Ms. Lilibeth Reyes and found no clinical evidence of recurrence.

She is now 62 years old and 13 years in remission.  We both thank God for this long remission.

Ms. Lilibeth Reyes agreed to have her picture taken with me and to have the picture posted online in my Cancer Survivor Registry to serve as an inspiration to other cancer patients, particularly colon cancer.

Mr. Ben Sia was 50 years old in October 26, 2012 when I did an operation (anterior resection with ileal resection) for his rectosigmoid cancer. He underwent postoperative chemotherapy.

At age 60 in 2023 March, he has no clinical evidence of recurrence. He is now 10 years going 11 years in remission. We both thank God for this long remission.

As March is the Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Mr. Sia agreed to have a picture with me and allowed me to post this to inspire other patients with colorectal cancers.
