Registrants may be employed by consultants, contractors, public bodies, private sector organisations or be self employed. They are professionally qualified engineers or geologists who have been rigorously assessed for demonstrable experience and competence in dealing with ground engineering conditions, managing risk and developing solutions.
Joining the Register of Ground Engineering Professionals (RoGEP) shows you have demonstrated ground engineering competences, as defined by the Site Investigation Steering Group (SISG) and other specifications, codes and standards, in addition to your professionally qualified status. Your advanced knowledge and expertise gained through experience provides clients, employers, peers and the public with the confidence that you have proven competence in your field that has been rigorously assessed.

If you are professionally qualified with one of the following bodies, you can apply to join the register:
At a reduced fee, applicants who are professionally qualified (EngTech, IEng, CEng/CGeol) with either the ICE, GSL or IOM3 can apply for entry to the register as a Registered Ground Engineering Technician/Practitioner/Professional within 12 months of becoming professionally qualified.
Progression from Technician grade through to Adviser grade is encouraged.
On admission, registrants may use the descriptor Registered Ground Engineering Technician/Practitioner/Professional/ Specialist/Adviser in their professional correspondence.
