Testbed setup at Sant'Anna during McGill researchers' visit

In December, prof. Odile Liboiron-Ladouceur and Mr. Peicheng Liao visited the team at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. During the visit, a testbed involving a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) controlled by a FPGA has been setup. The testbed constists of a recirculating loop containing a semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA) and enabled the characterization of large-size space switches based on SOAs.

The figure "testbed.jpg" shows the PIC with the SOAs and the probes. The figure "constructive.jpg" displays the signal at the output.
