Marina Safety

You may have read about the "Noah Dean and Nate Act" in Tennessee (Tennessee Code Annotated 68-102-602). It has gained the attention of other states and many are considering implementing a similar public safety law. Since our docks have shore power, a real safety risk exists at our docks. Your board members agreed it is wise and prudent that any and all safety precautions should be taken at Rock Harbor to ensure the safety of all owners and guests. In order to prevent electrical shock, electrocution or injury to users of our facility and the surrounding area, your board will take the following action:

• Post electrical shock hazard signs on the docks

• Complete Fire Marshall electrical inspections periodically

• Prohibit swimming within 100 yards of the docks

We'll mail a change notice to current registered marina users, update the Marina User Agreement and continue to enforce it according to our Bylaws.
