1958 - 61 Designer of Hydroelectric work in Balfour Beatty Head Office

1961 - 64 Concrete engineer with Kaiser Engineers of America on the Volta River hydroelectric project in

Ghana

1964 - 66 Senior planning engineer with Taylor Woodrow on Fiddlers Ferry power station

1966 - 68 Materials engineer with Taylor Woodrow on Manchester Airport extension

1968 - 84 Construction Lecturer with the Cement and Concrete Association

1984 - 87 Principal Engineer with C&CA on Advisory and Research work

1987 - 92 Concrete Consultant with the British Cement Association

Relevant experience:

Surveying; High accuracy setting out; Cofferdam design; Earth, rock and concrete dam design; Design of concrete mixes with up to 150 mm aggregate, including lightweight and grouted concrete. Supervision, checking and passing of construction work which included shafts, tunnels, bored and driven piles, raft foundations, roads, concrete and steel buildings, concrete and steel pipework, cooling towers, chimneys and bridges, cut and cover tunnel, consolidation and curtain grouting, shotcrete, guniting and dry cast concrete. Power floating and trowelling, repairs.
