Symphonette: Ryan Andersen

Ryan Andersen is a resident of Racine, Wisconsin and is currently a RUSD teacher for Jefferson Lighthouse and Gifford strings program.  He  has played cello since elementary school.  He has assisted with our Prelude, Symphonette and Symphony groups as a Sectional conductor as well as substitute conductors for our groups. 

Sinfonia: Michael Corman

Michael Corman was a member of the Kiwanis Youth Symphony from 1993-1997, winning the concerto competition in his senior year of high school. Michael earned his bachelor's degree in Cello Performance from Lawrence University, studied at the Master's Level at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and earned his Masters in Education specializing in secondary string education from Northern Arizona University.  Teaching middle school orchestra in Houston, Texas, Mr. Corman's orchestras consistently performed at a very high level, with all groups that he took to the UIL performance and sight reading contest earning honors.  Since moving back to Racine, Michael has enjoyed the time to focus on cello performance skills again, and he is very excited with the opportunity to work with Kiwanis, helping build the future of music in Racine. 

Symphony: Jesse Gomez

Jesse Gomez is resident of Racine, Wisconsin and has been teaching violin and viola in the Kenosha and Racine area for 8 years. Mr. Gomez has been with Racine Kiwanis Youth Symphony Orchestra for 3 years as assistant conductor and is proud to have been appointed principal conductor for the Symphonette Orchestra since the 2013-'14 season. Jesse has played the violin since the age of 11 and continues to play at the University of  Wisconsin-Parkside where he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Violin Performance. In addition to Kiwanis, Jesse has taught the after school program at Mahone Middle School in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and currently is building his private violin studio.
