Schedule/Fees

New Fencers enroll in our Introduction to Fencing course which lasts for an average of eight (8) weeks. Depending on class sizes we may offer separate classes for Youth Fencers (<12) and Adult fencers (12+). The Introductory classes are offered on Thursday nights. During this time, all gear is provided by the club.

After completing the Introduction to Fencing, students are encouraged to enroll in the Foil 1 class. Youth Fencers hone their foil skills until they turn 12 years of age, or at the coach's discretion, at which time they are able to test up to the Foil 2 class. Adults move up through all the levels of the program offered over a period of several months, a brief explanation of which is given here.

Introduction to Fencing courses are offered six times throughout the year, in two-month block:

Jan/Feb

Mar/April

May/June

July/Aug

Sept/Oct

Nov/Dec

The first class is always on the first Thursday of the two-month block, and the lessons last throughout the entire two month period.

If you are interested in signing up for one of our introductory classes, you must send an e-mail to fencingRFC@gmail.com requesting to be enrolled in the next cycle of classes prior to the start date, and we will e-mail you back with a confirmation.

THURSDAY

6:30 pm - 7:15 pm: Youth/Intro class

7:15 pm - 8:15 pm: Foil 1

8:15 pm - 9:00 pm: Open Floor, or Foil 2, depending on attending students

9:00 pm - 9:30 pm: Foil 2 if ^ is Open Floor, optional Epee and Saber

Private Lessons are offered on Thursdays during open floor at the coach's discretion.

Pricing

Introductory class: $120 for eight week package, including rental of club gear.

Adult Monthly classes: $60 per month OR $120 for two months if paid in advance.*

Youth Monthly classes: $60 per month.

* Members are allowed (and encouraged) to attend all classes for which they qualify at no extra charge.

* Members are not charged to use the floor on Fridays for free fencing and drilling.

Floor fee for Friday's open fencing (for non-members): $10 per night.
