Community Service
Community service events are performed by the chapter at least once each academic term. These events, selected by the members at meetings using volunteer input, offer members the opportunity to give back to the RIT and Rochester communities. Active members are required to attend at least one community service event per year to retain active membership status. Past events have included Rochester Clean Sweep, Foodlink, the Run Like Hell Charity Run for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Roses of Hope Gala, the Sheep Shearing Festival, and more. Tau Beta Pi also organizes and serves at the annual Tau Beta Pi Engineering BBQ held each spring, a day where students are rewarded for the year of work with free burgers, hot dogs, snacks, and drinks funded by the Kate Gleason College of Engineering and RIT Tau Beta Pi.
