Ripley County Queen Contest
The 2023 Ripley County Queen Contest will be held on Sunday July 16th, 2023 at the Osgood Damm Theater.
The 2022 Little Miss Ripley County Contest will be held on Wednesday July 26th, 2023 at the Ripley County Fair Free Stage .
2023 Miss Ripley County
This year, the Miss Ripley County Queen Pageant will take place on Sunday, July 16 2023. The day starts off in the afternoon with a panel of judges conducting interviews with contestants. Once interviews are completed, the pageant portion will take place at the Osgood Damm Theater. Upon introductions, contestants will provide a "Hometown Hero" speech, which is unjudged. Then, contestants will move into formal attire for modeling and judging. Immediately following will be evening wear, in which contestants will model their attire for the judges. During this time, contestants will be required to answer an on-stage question. The question will be in the form of one-word where contestants will answer with their definition or meaning of the word. This rounds out the judging portion of the pageant. After judges have convened, the court, Miss Congeniality, and the new Miss Ripley County Queen will be announced.
Duties of the newly crowned queen and her court will be as follows:
Participating in fair week activities
Attending shows, handing out ribbons, grandstand events, shaving cream fight, etc.
Riding in Ripley County Parades
Pumpkin Show Parade, Milan Christmas Walk, Batesville Holiday Parade, Milan 4th of July Parade
Participating in the 2023 Miss Indiana State Fair Pageant
Volunteer endeavors throughout the year
Requirements
Each contestant must be at least 16 years of age and cannot have had their 21st birthday as of January 1st, 2024.
Each contestant must be an Indiana resident, a U.S. citizen, and represent her home county. One of the contestant’s parents or legal guardians must also be an Indiana resident.
Each contestant must be an active member of at least one worthwhile organization in their community, such as church groups, Scouts, 4-H, etc. Eligibility is not limited to 4-H membership.
No professional model is eligible for the Ripley County Queen Pageant. (A professional model is one who earns her livelihood by modeling.) A contestant who has had training or schooling in the modeling field, has been paid on occasion for modeling or works for a fashion board is not considered a professional model.
Any contestant who has competed in a State Fair Queen Pageant cannot compete again.
Transportation for contestants and chaperones to and from the pageant will be the responsibility of each contestant.
Judging
Contestants will be judged in professional wear and formal wear, and on personal interviews

7th Annual Lil Miss Ripley County
1st Annual Lil Mister Ripley County
This year, the Miss Ripley County Queen Committee will be crowning our seventh Lil Miss Ripley County Princess & Our first Lil Mister Ripley County at the 2023 Ripley County 4-H Fair. The pageant will take place on Wednesday, July 26th. Each contestant will go through a small, informal interview. The contestants then will get time to meet and take pictures with the newly crowned Miss Ripley County 2023 and her court. The contestants then will walk on stage and answer an onstage question, and finally the judges will take time to make their final decision and we will crown our Lil Mister & Miss Ripley County Prince & Princess!!
Duties of the newly crowned prince,& princess and their court will be as follows:
* Passing out ribbons with the queen and her court
* Riding in the Pumpkin Show Parade in September
* Riding in the 4th of July Parade in Milan
* Attending the 2024 Miss Ripley County Queen Pageant
Requirements
· The age category is Grade K-2nd Grade. (Contestants must have completed Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.)
* There will be a $30 entry fee that will need to be turned in with the application.
* Each contestant must be a resident of Ripley County and must be a student at a Ripley County school. One of the contestant’s parents or legal guardians must also be a Ripley County resident.
* Transportation for contestants and chaperones to and from the pageant and the events the court will be participating in will be the responsibility of each contestant.
* Each contestant must have a chaperone with them at all times during the pageant and events that the court will be participating in.
* This will be an “All Natural” pageant. Contestants will not be permitted to wear any type of make-up.
* Contestants will be required to wear a simple sundress for the girls & khakis & a polo for the boys for the pageant. They will not be scored on their dress.

* Poise
