Experience the Disappointment!

Trish Stratus

Yup I still hate the LJN chasers. This one looks okay but Trish’s body proportions are ridiculously unrealistic. I mean her waist is thinner than her head and her chest is larger than her head and legs put together. It looks okay but just not my thing. If you are interested in it I have it up on eBay.

Little Spike Dudley

This is one of the few good figures in this set. I mean really this is pretty much all I could ask for in a classic spike figure. Perhaps it just looks good in comparison to the other crap that was excreted into this set but I’m happy with it. I love the head scan as that is how I remember spike in his early days. The scummy cut off raven jeans aren’t perfect but they are okay if you ask me. The glasses are molded on but in this case I’m okay with it as they would not stay on well otherwise. He is very detailed form his front coveralls pocket to the little buckles on the straps. But turn the figure around and you see a not so surprising flaw. No tie dye in the back of his shirt. I guess Jerry Garcia Dudley back at the Dudley Ville T-shirt shop ran out of Dudley dye. The only other let down is that he comes with a cookie tray. Boring! But I guess it’s fitting. I mean Spike was in the bring your own weapons glory of ECW and he should have something random like that I guess. One interesting thing to note about this series is the carding. They didn’t include debut dates but they went all out on including championships. Spike’s figure even recognizes him as a former Chaotic Wrestling Tag Team Champion. I was shocked to see this on the package. Looks like Jakks may be pushing some boundaries.

Lace Storm

Now before I review him I would like to make a positive comment about this otherwise craptastic series. The one thing this set does have is diversity. I mean it spans the gamete of wrestling companies and eras. You have everything from WCW, ECW, WWF attitude, and even Classic WWF. Lance on the other hand is the exception to this series. He is pretty damn near perfect. His attire is plain and simple just like Lance himself is. The head scan is great. I really have nothing bad to say about his figure at all. He comes with a chair. He also has elbow pads and form my brief search it seems as though he didn’t really wear elbow pads but that’s an easy fix. This is probably the best figure in the series.

Billy Kidman

This is another decent figure. The head scan is very well done and representative of his WCW days. It is also a new head scan from his Best of WCW release but essentially the same figure. He has laced boots with the torn jean shorts and an A-shirt. But look at that gawd awful hand combination. Not only does he have a claw hand but to top it off it’s paired with the closed fist rocky taped hand!!! I hate those taped fists soooo much!!! I mean in comparison it makes the claw seem some what decent. Way to take a decent figure and down grade it Jakks. Who made that brilliant decision. He comes with a silver chair and that’s always a welcomed accessory cause it takes I’m going to need some 93,000+ if I am going to re create that WrestleMania III replica of the Pontiac Silverdome.

LOD 2000 Hawk and Animal

Yeah these guys don’t deserve two separate reviews so there going together. Now we have all been waiting since CS9 for the counterparts to our LOD2000 Animal and 80’s Road Warriors Hawk. Instead we get this repeating piece of crap. We get animal re-released. Sure his tattoo work is pretty neat and clean but the figure was un necessary. His face paint is era accurate as well and both guys have one painted knee pad (new style). Hawk is the same head scan and they didn’t give him his proper hair style. They also gave him a color which is more of the 80’s gimmick and leads me to believe that whoever is now in charge down at Jakks is very confused. He has the out of shape torso which is fine if you ask me. I really didn’t like his face paint when I first saw it as it reminded me too much of the 80’s paint they used to wear but after looking at the BCA LOD 2000 Hawk the paint is pretty much the same scheme. I’m not to keen on the shoulder pads though. As I remember it they wore silver or grey pads as what came with the original LOD 2000 Animal in CS9. I don’t remember these pads. If anyone has reference pictures of LOD with these pads I would love to see them. I think I speak for every fan when I say I would have rather had hawk with the proper head and animal in the proper era. Lets roll on with the disappointment shall we?...

Rob Van Dam

This is a decent figure. His plain attire reminds me of his early ECW days and it is infact painted on the back to (thank God!). Once again if anyone can find a picture of him in his attire please send it my way. He has the smiling scan which I know some don’t like but personally I don’t mind it. I think he looks great in the new style knee pads. But once again in typical Jakks fashion RVD has the short kickers making him a certifiable midget. Now once again in this series the guy in charge of picking out hand molds must have been on an IV drip of Jack Daniels cause he has one taped thumb mold and one regular hand. I don’t even know what to say about that. His accessory is a barbed wire bat. Made with wooden wire and toothpicks apparently according to the color. Wouldn’t it make sense to give him a chair so he could be remembered as being an innovative hardcore wrestler that used the chair in different and unique ways with moves such as the Vandaminator or the Vanterminator? I guess it’s too much to ask for a company that produces wrestling figures to have some basic knowledge about the product. Jakks you guys really need to watch the movie “Big” with Tom Hanks, It might improve your product.

The Berzerker .

Ah at face value this figure looks brilliant but rest assure there is plenty of error within. First off he comes with no accessories other than his clothes. Now the Berzerker that I remember came down the ring wielding a shield and a sword. But what really angers me about this figure is his head. The Viking helmet I a molded part of the head sculpt. this just bothers me. I mean yeah it was the same problem that they had with his Hasbro figure. The only usefully think I can think of for this problem is to have him face el Matador just for the novelty of the situation. This figure really is golden though from the eyebrows down. The head scan is pretty good and he’s in the middle of yelling a good old “Huss! Huss!” And unlike the Ric Flair “Woo” Scan, the berserker latterly yelled Huss through out his matches. I was surprised to see Jakks picked the Turquoise top for this figure but I really do like it. The even went as far as to sew a belt thing around it too. It has Velcro up the left side but I have no reason to take it off form him. He has brown trunks underneath and brown knee pads. His furry boot coverings are great and Jakks even went as far as to put some black string ties around them. They did pay attention to detail but I guess I just demand a bit more.

The Big Bossman

More like the Big Dissapointman. Yes this figure does leave much to be desired. We all cringed when we saw the Paulie shirt on this figure. Some times I really think that the Rocky line ruined Jakks. I mean it almost seems that they are forcing themselves to use the molds over and over regardless of weather they fit WWE or not. But once I got this figure in my hands you can see that it isn’t all that horrible. I think the mane problem with it is the un tucked shirt. It just makes him look like such a slob. Now for Paulie that was fine cause he was a drunken slob but the Bossman? Come on Jakks, show a little respect. I think that if you trim the bottom of the shirt of this figure may look loads better. But I wont dare cut my figure until he hits retail and I can pick one up to try it out. The shirt is detailed with his logos and that strap thing he always wore. Unfortunately the straps don’t quite meet up in the back. It’s also odd that he has regular shoulder balls instead of the shirt mold shoulder. I am sure you noticed by now that he has a claw. I do like the yellow stripe down the pants. How sad is that. To talk good about this fig I refer to a yellow stripe. Wow. The head scan is pretty nice. His accessories at least match him well. He comes with a big stick, a ball and chain too and if your looking for trouble… Wait a minute. Jakks just listened to his theme song to come up with this didn’t they. Now sure I think back in the day when he was 400lbs he on occasion had his ball and chain but more often I remember him with hand cuffs and sunglasses. None to be found. The ball and chain is however functional but fits very tight to most figs legs. It probably is perfect for the wrist but that just makes no sense. I mean yes I commend Jakks for making a new accessories but come on make something a we want like hand cuffs or a cloth shirt to make this figure look better. Come on Ralph fix up this bastardized piece of dung. (just want to note in the final picture I added shades and edited out the bottom of his untucked shirt just to show how much better it could look)
