Mattel Legends Multi Packs

These guys were hands down the most entertaining tag team ever. Didn’t matter who they were pinned against they put on an awesome show. They were at my first ever live wrestling show and they tore the house down. One of the teams that never needed belts to make them. In fact belts would have been odd on these two. Lets start with what they have in common. They are in there classic grey camo pants with black tank tops and boots. Look is fully tattooed on both arms and has a goofy head scan that is perfect for him. He has short brown hair and a great old widows peak. Now how do I tell the two apart? I have always had a good system for this. Luke is clearly the more toothless and stupider looking of the two. Butch also has his arm tattoos and a head scan that is doing a pouty lipped face. What is with Mattel and this look? Anyways they are the Bushwhackers and a goofy look fits them. The head scan isn’t perfect but it looks much better in person that from the protos. And the accessories. Plain and simple but they deliver everything that Jakks didn’t. They are grey with dark deco on the front. They even have the teams name in orange and you can clearly see where the boys took a few bights out of the brim. I would have it no other way. Best of all…they fit! Yes the hats fit on their heads! Butch’s fit’s perfectly but Lukes is a bit loose.

Rowdy Roddy Piper and Cowboy Bob Orton Jr.

Piper The Hot Scott gets his first elite style treatment in this Toys R Us exclusive set. Piper comes with a removable red kilt at black belt. I really wish that they would have skipped reality in this instance and made the belt attached to the kilt. The problem is the Velcro on the belt doesn’t allow you to make it tight enough and it can easily become misplaced on his waste. The down fall of this figure is they omitted a shirt with him. Yeah I know I could use the one from the entrance greats version but that figure is crazy expensive to get a complete elite Piper. Not only that but Hotrod had many famous shirts that he wore that could lead to some variation. I mean who wouldn’t want the panther shirt. The head scan on this figure is subpar. It has medium length hair and just doesn’t look as good as scans in the past. The main thing that drags this down is that he is grinning but doesn’t have bottom teeth. Instead that space is filled in black making him look like he lost his dentures. He has white wrist tape and blue trunks and knee pads. He has boots that are a light purple color with RP on both sides. RS Rated: 5 Orton Home run. He comes with a hard rubber stove pipe hat that is decorated with a brown band. Due to the hard rubber the hat doesn’t fit on his head all that well. He comes in a soft leather vest with large frills on the bottom. The head scan is well done an is one solid piece (has no added hair piece). He features black knee pads and green brief trunks. His black boots say ACE and have tall striped socks underneath. He even has a painted on forearm cast. The only way Mattel could have done better was to some how make the cast removable. But that would have been far above and beyond anything expected

Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff Sheik

The legends elite series is young and Sheiky Baby already has his second figure. He comes with a white headdress with a black band. He also has a cloth white robe with gold deco. I won’t repeat the awesomeness that I discussed in his singles release and instead will concentrate on the differences. The first glaring difference is the tights. He has a boxer brief style tights on that are blue with a camel logo. He has blue and red boots with camel and saber logos. Nice to have him in both his attire styles RS Rated: 9 Volkoff Nikolai is hear and ready to sing his way into our hearts. Look out Randy Jackson. He comes complete with his satin coat with yellow trim featuring the Russian sickle and USSR. He also comes with his soviet hat made of hard black rubber with a red star and wings. This fits his head perfectly. His head scan is par. He has a snarling look which I don’t prefer but it isn’t horrible. He has red knee pads and trunks with a blue side stripe. He has dark red boots with white laces.
