We provide shared laundry facilities. You may pick one day of the week when you can do all your laundry. You can then hang your laundry to dry naturally outside in the sun if you wish, saving significant wear and tear on the fabric or you can hang it right in the laundry room or even on a laundry support that you can take in your room if you so wish. There is also a dryer available, but you will have to remove lint after drying and make sure you do not overload it. Failure to operate the dryer according to these basic rules may result in its malfunction and it could take up to 1 month to fix it or it may not be fixed at all. We also ask that you operate it only in the week-ends and holidays (PDF) or from 7pm-7am, when electricity rates are lowest.
Please make sure you place your detergent inside the washing machine together with the rest of your laundry and NOT in the space reserved for fabric softener or chlorine bleach. The washing machine has special dispensers for the aforementioned liquids; however, improper use may cause staining with these liquids; if this happens, it is your duty to clean it up.
If you plan to operate the dryer or laundry machine late at night, please let us know via email and make sure to close the doors and windows of the laundry room. This is important because operating the dryer with the door open my cause the fire alarm to go off.
You may even use our laundry detergent (specially formulated for cold water), provided that you use only the cold water cycle and hang your laundry to dry. Make sure you mark your laundry detergent as suggested if left in a common area so that it is not removed.
Should you need to do laundry on a different day than the one agreed, you may do so for $2 provided that you obtain our consent in advance or $5 if after.
