William Moore

Executive Director of The Eleanor Crook Foundation

William Moore has served since 2015 as Executive Director of The Eleanor Crook Foundation, a growing U.S. philanthropy founded in 1997 to end hunger and now committed to research, capacity building, and advocacy to end global malnutrition. In his former role as the Chief Storyteller at the United Nations Millennium Campaign, Moore helped coordinate in-country engagement to reach the Sustainable Development Goals, and worked to highlight the human aspect of data and development. He serves on the Board of Directors of Bread for the World and The Alliance to End Hunger. A North Carolina native, he graduated from Columbia University in American Studies.

Seeds of Hope Awardee: Brighter Bites

The mission of Brighter Bites is to create communities of health through fresh food. A research-based, multi-component, and collaborative nonprofit, Brighter Bites delivers fresh fruits and vegetables directly into families’ hands, teaches them how to use it, and tracks their behavior change along the way. The organization's overarching goal is to change behavior among children and their families to curb the childhood obesity epidemic and improve long-term health outcomes. Brighter Bites operates programs in Houston, Dallas, Austin, New York City, the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, and Southwest Florida.
