Harvey L. Durbin was born in Mexia,Texas, on october 13, 1921. He was the son of William Durbin and Theodeus Viola Durbin.

Harvey died of wounds in (Liége) Belgium, January 17, 1945.

Harvey's brothers and sisters; Flynn J. Durbin was also killed in WWII in December 1943 in Italy. He is buried in Sicily-Rome cemetery.

Andrew L. Durbin died during the Korean War in December 1950. He is listed MIA.

Bud Durbin; served during WWII, died in 1991.

PVT Harvey L. Durbin

These days Harvey L. Durbin rests in the beautiful American Military Cemetery at Henri-Chapelle. He is remembered and honored by his sister Ruth Stockton, his nephew Gaines H. Greene , by Vincent Vandeberg who adopted his final resting place at Henri-Chapelle, by every visitor of the American Cemetery at Henri-Chapelle and by every visitor of Remember our Liberators.

Harvey L. Durbin s'est enrôlé le 2 juillet 1942 au Texas. Il est mort à l'âge de 25 ans, le 17 janvier 1945. Il occupait le rang de private first class, dans la Co D de la 83rd Reconnaissance Bn, 3rd Armored Division.

Il avait été décoré de la Silver Star pour un acte de bravoure au combat en Begique le 12 janvier 1945. Il avait également reçu les décorations suivantes: Purple Heart Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, World War II Victory Medal, World War II Service Lapel Button, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal W/1 Bronze Service Star.
