Being active with a breathing illness is so difficult, our brains are pre programmed to avoid being breathless. However, stopping and avoiding activity can result in a downward spiral, further deconditioning leads to greater breathlessness. If possible, we should aim to be active every day. Any activity is better than none. Evidence has shown that even one minute of activity can benefit your health.
The UK government recommends we should engage in 150 minutes of moderate activity a week or 75 minutes vigorous activity. If you’re not very active at the moment, the recommendations might seem overwhelming. Don't panic, I work can with you, starting small and working up, you can have a real positive impact on your health.
Over time, your fitness will increase and you’ll be able to do more.
