Jerkin

A garment similar to the doublet, generally sleeveless, and worn on top of it. (Yarwood, European Costume 283)

1. Jacket similar to doublet, with slightly longer skirt and sometimes with hanging sleeves, worn 1450-1630. 2. Sleeveless jacket with wings on shoulders; worn 16th-17th centuries. 3. Synonym for vest. (Calasibetta, Jerkin)
