Schiehallion Summit
Schiehallion, when viewed from the west presents an almost perfect cone shape. It looks like a volcano but is actually formed of quartzite, a metamorphic rock and has nothing to do with vulcanicity. Quartzite is hard and so has resisted erosion as the glaciers flowed past the rocks now forming Schiehallion.
